Student cyclists raise £2,000

A group of Harper Adams students cycled 100 miles to the Young Farmers AGM in Blackpool at the weekend, raising around £2,000 for charity.
The trip took them from the University College near Newport, Shropshire, to Chorley for an overnight stay, before landing at the Winter Gardens and Opera House on Friday.
It was all in aid of the Anthony Nolan, Macmillan, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and Teenage Cancer Trust charities, with donations still being received.
The students caused quite a stir with the press, featuring in several promotional news videos, photo galleries and news articles.
20-year-old Charlie Morris from Presteigne, Powys, said: “Many Young Farmers Clubs use inventive ways to raise money. It was difficult to fit training in around lambing, but it was a challenge which is what we signed up for.”
Other students taking part were Jocelyn Orr, Gareth Parker, James Wadland, Ruth Smith, Edward Daniell, James Stent, Isobel Bowden, Bill Crank and Vicki Crank.
